Abstract: This study examines the association between care received by parents during adolescence and care for one’s own child.  Using the two waves from The U.S. Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health, this study will analyze hereditary parenting with accounts from adolescents evaluating their current relationship with their parents, thus not relying on their memory to recount it as an adult. Additionally, this study uses categorical variables in order to asses closeness to parents, that will add to existing research on the topic.
