Abstract: This research analyses the effects of race on the association between vehicle search success and citation. A significant association was found between search success and the likelihood of receiving a traffic citation but race did not significantly interact with this association. This analysis found that search success is the most accurate predictor of citation rates in the state of CT. Future research questions utilising this or similar data might take a look the rates at which searches were employed against drivers of different races and under what pretences said vehicle was initially stopped.
