Abstract: This study evaluates the relationship between religiosity and stance on national welfare programs. Previous research has evaluated religiosity in relation to welfare with significant results, but welfare as a concept has been measured very broadly. Using three specific areas of national welfare as a measure, religiosity and welfare stance did not have a significant relationship. Instead, political views (ranging from conservative to liberal) appeared to be the main variable driving the initial semblance of a relationship between the two variables in question.
